The 19th century neo-Gothic Antepedium with the Saint Mary’s monogram produced in France is woven in biser beads.
The artwork was covered with layer dirt. Stretcher warp and weft were affected by rust. Glass beads in many places crumbled away.
The glass beads and pigments analysis was carried out by SEM-EDX, FTIR ir XRF methods. In order to restore the losses of colored glass beads, it was decided to cast new miniature colored beads from the coloured epoxy resin. Damaged places was unfixed from the stretcher, cotton tissue and polyamide net. The Antepedium was washed, its breaked warp were consolidated by piercing new linen threads.
