The painting (114 x 182 cm) that had been hidden from the public eyes for 67 years was found in a house, where the piece of art on plywood had been used as a panel in the ceiling. As nobody knew there was a painting, the piece was sawn out of the ceiling in fragments. The painting was dirty and spotted and its surface had several losses in it. The aim of conservation was to restore the painting to what it had been initially. The conserved painting is displayed in the Viljandi Town Hall today.
